We would like to inform our Clients that, from the 18th day of September, 2021, all Companies listed in Annex 2093must proceed with the required steps to accept credit card payments based on the Law on Confirmation and Collection of Taxes of 1978 (No.3) / 2021 and Decree 30A (3) published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus on the 18th day of June, 2021.

In general, the Businesses operating in the service and retail sectors are obliged to accept “card” payments as a means of payment, in an effort of the Cyprus Government to fight tax evasion, to boost consumer protection and to help customer service. Consumers still have other means of payment at their avail, such as cash.

Non-compliance with the relevant Law shall be subject to fines up to €2,000.
